Write Hope

Nozomi

Welcome to Write Hope! We're an international group of Kidlit writers with a connection to Japan. Some of us have lived there. Some of us speak the language. Some of us love the culture. Some of us simply think Japan is exotic and mysterious.

The land of the rising sun and cherry blossoms in spring.

These last few days one thing that binds us above all is our mutual horror at the disasters striking Japan - from earthquakes to tsunamis to nuclear meltdowns.

AP
In three days entire villages have been wiped off the face of the earth, countless people are missing, others are homeless. Millions of people are left without electricity and water. There's no knowing where it ends.

We want to do our bit to help. To that end we have formed Write Hope. We're busy preparing everything now and over the next few weeks we plan to auction kidlit books, critiques, and other prizes for donation to the relief fund of our chosen charity Save the Children.

We'd love for you to be in too. Sign up, spread the word. If you have ARC's, books, critiques, swag to spare, pop us a mail. If you're a publishing professional, agent, editor, author, who wants to participate, pop us a mail.

If you want to help, pop us a mail.

Together we can move mountains :-)

Thanks, Rach, for the link (I'm following.) Marieke's blog posted about Write Hope earlier. So many lifes lost in the blink of an eye. It's all such a tragedy beyond imagination that is oh too real.

I'm following, too. I look forward to the auction. My father did business in Japan when I was a teen, and I too learned a few key words and phrases. My family then began a love affair with Japanese cuisine which continues to this day and is now being passed on to a new generation.

This is a great cause and blog! I have visited Japan before and it's a beautiful country with very lovely people. It's heartbreaking what's happening to the people and that landscape :(

I think this is such an amazing cause! Let's see if we can't get several people to join!

My sister is in the Navy and she was luckily not in Japan when everything had happened but several of her friends were. I am glad to know they're all safe but that doesn't mean thousands of others aren't. I think this is a fabulous cause and I look forward to helping!
